We called on families, organizations, neighborhoods and cities to observe the anniversary by telling their stories of oppression and resistance... and across the country, people gathered in observances large and small. Over 130 People’s Observances were held across the country in 2019.

Collected here are the events that you produced, and that we produced; an archive of a year where people across this land gathered and took the time to say that this place and this moment is important; in this place, we will look back in order to better see the present, and better make the future.
